Delta State – Pastor Godwin Akpovie, Managing Director/CEO of Delta Special Economic Zone, has extended warm congratulations to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, on his recent election as Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.

In a statement, Pastor Akpovie described Guwor’s elevation as “well-deserved,” highlighting it as a testament to the Speaker’s exemplary leadership, legislative competence, and steadfast commitment to democratic governance. He emphasized that Guwor’s achievement not only brings honour to Delta State but also reflects the confidence his colleagues across Nigeria have in his capacity to provide purposeful direction for state legislatures nationwide.

“His emergence inspires renewed confidence that the voices of lawmakers across the federation will be strongly articulated, protected, and unified,” Akpovie said. “Rt. Hon. Guwor has consistently demonstrated the rare ability to lead with fairness, build consensus across political and regional lines, and promote inclusive legislative engagement – qualities that are essential for our nation at this critical time.”

The Delta business leader also expressed optimism that Guwor’s tenure as National Chairman would strengthen inter-parliamentary collaboration, uphold the independence of state legislatures, and advance good governance through unity of purpose and principled leadership. He added that Guwor’s leadership would bring wisdom, inclusiveness, and a reform-driven approach, fostering stronger synergy between state assemblies and other arms of government.

“I heartily congratulate you on your well-deserved elevation as the National Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures,” Pastor Akpovie concluded. “As you assume this important national responsibility, I wish you great success and wisdom in providing purposeful and transformative leadership to both the Conference and our dear Delta State.”
