In Nigeria’s evolving energy and technology landscape, Engr. Ogbeide Victor Jonah stands as a model of innovation, integrity, and impact. An accomplished electrical engineer, renewable energy entrepreneur, and humanitarian, he has built a career defined not just by business success, but by service to people and community.

As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Dee-Jovicx Limited, headquartered in Agbor, Delta State, Engr. Jonah has positioned himself at the forefront of Nigeria’s solar energy and integrated technology solutions sector.

Leadership Rooted in Character

Known for his discipline, professionalism, and people-focused leadership, Engr. Jonah believes true leadership is measured by responsibility, not titles. His journey reflects steady growth driven by integrity, technical excellence, and a refusal to compromise standards.

Those who work with him describe him as calm, visionary, and deeply committed to excellence—qualities that have earned him respect within and beyond Delta State.

Early Life and Professional Growth

Speaking recently during an interactive session with Newsmen, Engr. Jonah traced his passion for engineering to his early academic years.

“I have always loved electrical engineering,” he said. “That passion led me to Enugu State University of Science and Technology.”

After completing his National Youth Service Corps programme, he secured employment within weeks, launching his career in electrical installations. His pursuit of growth soon led him into the telecommunications sector, where he advanced rapidly from field trainee to service engineer.

His professional journey later extended beyond Nigeria, with valuable experience in the United Arab Emirates—exposure he credits for shaping his global outlook.

“I was never interested in limiting myself to local experience,” he noted.

Building Dee-Jovicx Limited

With over 16 years of combined local and international experience, Engr. Jonah made the strategic decision to establish Dee-Jovicx Limited, driven by a desire to build systems, train others, and deliver sustainable solutions.

Today, the company provides:

  • Solar power installations
  • CCTV and surveillance systems
  • Intercom solutions
  • Network boosters
  • Starlink installations
  • Vehicle tracking systems

While best known for solar solutions, Dee-Jovicx has expanded its technical scope, operating across Nigeria and employing over 35 staff in Delta State.

“Our strength lies in innovation and technical depth,” Engr. Jonah explained. “We keep learning to stay relevant.”

Closing the Skills Gap: The Solar Academy

Concerned about limited access to practical technical skills among young Nigerians, Engr. Jonah founded a Solar Academy—a training platform focused on empowerment and self-reliance.

The academy offers hands-on instruction in solar installation, maintenance, sales, and related technologies. Trainees gain real-world experience through fieldwork, installations, and troubleshooting exercises.

In a forward-thinking approach, the academy also introduces participants to artificial intelligence applications, ensuring they remain competitive in a technology-driven future.

“Our goal is to help young people earn with both their hands and their minds,” he said.

Challenges in Nigeria’s Solar Sector

Despite its potential, Nigeria’s solar energy sector faces notable challenges. Engr. Jonah points to high installation costs, low public awareness, and policy-related import barriers as major constraints.

“Solar is capital-intensive, and government policies affect growth,” he said. “But resilience is essential.”

Delta State as an Emerging Business Hub

Contrary to outdated assumptions, Engr. Jonah believes Delta State is increasingly conducive for business.

“Many people underestimate Delta,” he observed. “But the environment has improved, and businesses can thrive if properly oriented.”

Beyond Business: The MOM Foundation

Engr. Jonah’s commitment to service extends beyond enterprise. He is the founder of the Margaret Ogbeide Memorial Foundation (MOM Foundation), established in honour of his late mother.

The foundation focuses on grassroots empowerment, humanitarian support, and social development—reflecting values of compassion and community upliftment.

“Our mission is to give people hope and opportunity,” he said.

Integrity, Preparation and the Youth

For young Nigerians navigating uncertainty, Engr. Jonah’s message is direct.

“Do not wait for government. Success comes from preparation, integrity, and action,” he advised. “Challenges are opportunities to grow.”

He stressed that sustainable success cannot be built on shortcuts, but on discipline, innovation, and ethical conduct.

A Future Powered by Purpose

Through renewable energy, skills development, and humanitarian service, Engr. Ogbeide Victor Jonah represents a new generation of Nigerian leaders committed to sustainable progress.

As Nigeria seeks solutions in energy, employment, and ethical leadership, his story underscores a powerful truth: meaningful development is driven by purpose, powered by knowledge, and sustained by integrity.
