ASABA — In a landmark development for the entertainment industry in Delta State, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, in collaboration with all heads of entertainment bodies in Oshimili South and Oshimili North, has announced a historic town hall meeting slated for July 30, 2025. The event will take place at the prestigious Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
The announcement was made during a well-attended press conference held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in Asaba, with key figures from across the entertainment sector in attendance.
Uniting Entertainers for a Political Cause
Speaking at the briefing, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Hon. Dr. Frank D Don, emphasized that the forthcoming town hall meeting is primarily intended to educate entertainers across the Oshimili axis on the recent political realignment in the state.
“The town hall is to sensitize our entertainers on the political shift that has occurred, especially the movement from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Dr. Frank D Don stated. “Our Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is now with the APC, and we want the grassroots — particularly those in the creative space — to understand the reasons behind this shift.”
Birth of the ‘Entertainers Movement for Sheriff’
Dr. Frank further revealed that the meeting would serve as the official unveiling of the Entertainers Movement for Sheriff, a platform created to unify entertainers under a common vision and strengthen their collective voice in state affairs.
“This is the first time in history we are bringing all entertainers in Oshimili South and North together under one coordinated structure,” he said. “We aim to ensure everyone is affiliated with the right guild, recognized professionally, and that their welfare is prioritized.”
Formal Endorsement for 2027 Governorship

Another highlight of the upcoming event will be the formal endorsement of Governor Oborevwori for a second term in office. The entertainers, according to the SSA, are strongly backing the Governor’s MORE Agenda and believe it deserves continuity beyond 2027.
“On July 30, we will publicly declare our support for His Excellency as our preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election. We believe his MORE Agenda — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security — must be sustained,” he added.
