“I want to state categorically that this propaganda is a diversionary attempt to draw attention away from the real issues unfolding in the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN). I have always been a believer, protagonist and foot soldier of His Excellency Senator Ifeany Okowa, aka Ekwueme, and what he stands for and I am definite that His Excellency knows it very well.
As far back as 2015 when Ekwueme was contesting for the post of Governor for the first time, I was a Director in the civil service. With my trade union background, I boldly and openly supported and campaigned for Ekwueme, floating the then popular Delta State Workers Alliance for Democracy (DESWAD). DESWAD mobilised workers in the twenty five local government areas of Delta State to vote for Ekwueme. Thank God he won.
In 2018, Ekwueme appointed me as Permanent Secretary. He initially approved my posting to the then Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. Two years later, he moved me to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, where I served until I retired meritoriously from the civil service in 2024. All these go to show the confidence that Ekwueme has in me and I still remain loyal to him.
As for the 2023 governorship election, I was the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Secretary to the State Government then and I served under Chief Patrick Ukah. I never disappointed Ekwueme or Chief Ukah then. As of today, I still enjoy their confidence and they want the best for me . Thank God, His Excellency, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori won the governorship election.
Upon my retirement from the civil service in January , 2024 , I registered and openly joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which was the party of my masters, at an enlarged meeting of Ughelli North Local Government Area Leaders and Elders Forum held at the residence of the Local Government Chairman, Chief Jaro Egbo.
When the leaders of the PDP in the state decided that we should move over to the All Progressives Congress (APC), I complied and joined the train. I am not only a registered member of the APC, but a Leader at the Local Government Area level.
As a matter of fact, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, there is a body of eminent persons known as Ughelli North Local Advisory Committee, which was inaugurated by Chief Jaro Egbo in October, 2024. I am a proud member of that Committee.
If I was not a trusted loyalist, I would not enjoy the confidence that I enjoy from the state to the local government level and climbed the political ladder this far. I do not have treachery and betrayal in my character like my traducers, who are acting out of envy.
Those who want to make me their target of mudslinging and smear campaigns have failed woefully and they will continue to fail and fall into oblivion.
All the legal and administrative issues concerning the dispute in the Association of Senior Civil servants of Nigeria have since been laid bare in the public space. Any attempt to paint the matter in any other light is mischievous and wicked”.
