Comrade (Dr) Bolum Martin Nwachukwu has been inaugurated as the Delta State Chairman of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, a political support organisation that says it is committed to advancing the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The inauguration, held in Asaba todat, brought together members of the organisation and political stakeholders from across the state, with the Director General of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Dr Oke Idawene, presiding over the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Idawene expressed satisfaction with what he described as the group’s commitment to promoting Governor Oborevwori’s development agenda across Delta State. He said the Integrity Group remained dedicated to mobilising grassroots support for the governor’s policies and programmes.
Describing the newly inaugurated state chairman as a committed grassroots politician, Idawene said Nwachukwu had consistently demonstrated unwavering support for the MORE Agenda.
“There is nobody more committed to the MORE Agenda than Comrade Bolum Martin Nwachukwu,” he said, expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen the organisation’s presence throughout the state.
The Director General also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, saying the Integrity Group identified with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He said the group’s objectives were consistent with efforts aimed at promoting national development, good governance and citizen participation.
In his acceptance speech, Nwachukwu thanked the Director General and members of the national leadership for the confidence reposed in him, describing Idawene as a statesman whose leadership had continued to inspire members of the organisation nationwide.
He noted that Delta State occupies a unique position as the birthplace of the Integrity Group of Nigeria and said the state chapter must remain at the forefront of advancing the vision and philosophy of the organisation.
“We are fortunate that Delta State is the birthplace of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, and we have a responsibility to ensure that the state remains the leading chapter of the organisation,” he said.
Nwachukwu charged members of the newly inaugurated state executive committee to work collectively in strengthening the group’s structures across the state. He also urged members to remain committed to the ideals and philosophy of the organisation, emphasising unity, discipline and service.
He acknowledged that several political support groups had emerged in recent times and appeared to mirror the activities of the Integrity Group. According to him, such developments reflect the relevance of the group’s ideals and growing influence in grassroots mobilisation.
The new chairman directed all local government coordinators to activate unit and ward structures across Delta State in line with the organisational framework of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying a functional grassroots network would be crucial to achieving the group’s objectives.
Nwachukwu also called for intensified mobilisation to build wider public support for Governor Oborevwori and his administration. He added that the Integrity Group in Delta State would continue to identify with organised labour and other critical stakeholders in promoting inclusive development and fostering stronger engagement between government and the people.
He pledged that the state chapter would work closely with communities across Delta to expand the organisation’s reach while supporting initiatives aimed at peace, progress and sustainable development.
