The All Progressives Grand Alliance on Wednesday conducted its governorship primary election peacefully in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, which took place at the party’s state headquarters in Asaba, witnessed a large turnout of party members and supporters who participated in the affirmation process using the Option A4 voting system adopted by the party.
Mrs. Adeyanji Beatrice, the sole aspirant in the primary election, was affirmed by party faithful who queued openly behind her in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, the Delta State Chairman of APGA, Comrade Okproma Joseph, described the primary as peaceful, orderly and successful.
He commended members for their conduct and urged them to remain united and committed towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored the exercise to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines and maintenance of law and order throughout the process.
Some party stalwarts who spoke during the exercise said the massive turnout demonstrated the confidence party members have in APGA and in the leadership qualities of Mrs. Adeyanji Beatrice, expressing optimism that her candidature would bring meaningful development and add value to the lives of Deltans.
Also speaking, the Returning Officer, Ogbueshi Tony Eboka, described the primary election as free, fair and transparent.
He noted that the impressive turnout of members reflected the growing acceptance of the party and the desire of the people for overall development in Delta State.
