Retired Brigadier General Biodun Bashir Adewinmbi has successfully scaled the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress ahead of the contest for the Osun West Senatorial District seat.
The screening, which took place on Friday at the Continental Hotel Abuja, is considered a major step in Adewinmbi’s bid to secure the party’s ticket and subsequently represent Osun West at the Nigerian Senate.
Supporters and members of the Adewinmbi-AMBO Grassroots Mobilization Movement described the successful exercise as a clear indication of the retired military officer’s readiness to provide purposeful leadership and quality representation for the people of the district.
According to party faithful present at the venue, Adewinmbi’s military background, leadership experience, discipline, and commitment to public service place him in a strong position to champion the interests of Osun West at the Red Chamber if elected.
The aspirant’s growing popularity across the senatorial district was also highlighted by supporters, who maintained that the movement behind his aspiration continues to gain momentum among residents and stakeholders within the constituency.
They expressed confidence that Adewinmbi possesses the capacity and credibility required to attract democratic dividends and effective representation to the district.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, members of the mobilization movement reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring victory for the aspirant, stressing that the project enjoys broad-based grassroots support across Osun West.
Political observers believe the successful screening has further strengthened Adewinmbi’s standing within the APC ahead of the party’s senatorial processes in Osun State.
