Oghene Egoh Appointed National Publicity Secretary of Integrity Group of Nigeria

Former member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the 10th National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oghene Emma Egoh, has been appointed the National Publicity Secretary of the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN), a development expected to strengthen the organisation’s public engagement and strategic communications.

The appointment places the seasoned legislator and communications strategist at the forefront of the group’s media relations and public affairs activities as it seeks to expand its national presence and deepen civic engagement across the country.

Egoh brings more than three decades of experience spanning public administration, legislative service, corporate governance and political communication. Widely recognised for his articulate media engagements and policy advocacy, he has built a reputation as one of the prominent public communicators within Nigeria’s political landscape.

Reacting to his appointment, Egoh expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Integrity Group of Nigeria for the confidence reposed in him, describing the role as an opportunity to promote the organisation’s vision while advancing constructive national dialogue.

Throughout his public career, Egoh has held several strategic positions at both the local and national levels. He began his political journey as a Councillor in Badagry Local Government before serving as Supervisory Councillor for Finance and Planning in Ojo Local Government, where he gained recognition for his administrative discipline and commitment to public service.

In 2015, he was elected to represent Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, serving in both the 8th and 9th National Assemblies until 2023. During his tenure, he focused on legislative initiatives relating to infrastructure development, human capital advancement and constitutional reform. He also served as a member of the 9th ECOWAS Parliament, participating in regional deliberations on democratic governance, economic integration and security cooperation across West Africa.

Following his parliamentary service, Egoh was appointed Senior Legislative Aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, where he continues to provide strategic legislative and communications support.

Beyond government, Egoh has maintained an active presence in Nigeria’s media space, regularly appearing on national television networks, including TVC, Arise Television, Channels Television and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where he offers commentary on governance, legislative affairs and public policy. He is also a prolific writer whose published articles focus on institutional reform, economic development and democratic governance.

Observers say his appointment as National Publicity Secretary is expected to leverage his extensive experience in public relations, political communication and stakeholder engagement to enhance the visibility and outreach of the Integrity Group of Nigeria.

The Integrity Group of Nigeria said Egoh’s appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening its communications architecture with experienced professionals capable of engaging the public on issues of national importance.

His tenure is expected to focus on promoting the organisation’s programmes, articulating its policy positions and fostering constructive dialogue among stakeholders in pursuit of national unity, accountability and good governance.
