The ancient town of Onicha Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State is set to come alive on Saturday, 20th September 2025, as the Oza of Onicha Uku Kingdom, Chief Peter Onye Ejiniwe, and the entire Onicha Uku people celebrate this year’s Ine Aho Festival in grand style.
According to a statement signed by his Personal Assistant, Comrade Emmanuel Mukolu, the celebration will begin with the Ina Aka ritual at the palace of His Royal Highness, Obi Raphael Okonkwor Agbamuhe II, the Obi of Onicha Uku Kingdom, who coincidentatly is the chief host.. The cultural festivity will later climax with a grand reception at the Oza’s country home along Comprehensive Secondary School Road, Onicha Uku town.
The Ine Aho Festival, one of the most revered traditional observances of the Onicha Uku people, is more than a moment of merriment. It serves as a symbol of continuity, a means of preserving age-old customs, and an opportunity for sons and daughters of the kingdom—both at home and in the diaspora—to reconnect with their roots.
Chief Ejiniwe, a respected philanthropist and community leader, has over the years demonstrated uncommon commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage.
