ABUJA — Brigadier General Biodun Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd.), National Adviser of Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB), has felicitated the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on the occasion of her 66th birthday.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the birthday anniversary, Adewinmbi congratulated Senator Tinubu and acknowledged her public service, humanitarian interests and commitment to issues affecting families, women, children and vulnerable Nigerians.
He said her dedication to public service and concern for the welfare of citizens deserved recognition, while wishing her continued good health, wisdom, strength and grace in the years ahead.
“On behalf of myself and the members of TTB, I extend heartfelt felicitations to Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the occasion of her 66th birthday,” Adewinmbi said.
He added: “Your commitment to public service, compassion for the vulnerable, and dedication to the advancement of Nigerian families and communities are worthy of recognition.”
Adewinmbi also prayed that God would continue to grant the First Lady sound health and the strength to continue her service to humanity and the nation.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, born on September 21, 1960, served as First Lady of Lagos State and represented Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2011 to 2023. She is the current First Lady of Nigeria.
As First Lady, she has been associated with the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has programmes and interventions focused on areas including education, healthcare, social welfare, women and youth empowerment, and support for vulnerable Nigerians.
Who is Brigadier General Biodun Bashir Adewinmbi?
Brigadier General Biodun Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd.) is a retired Nigerian Army officer whose military career spanned finance, intelligence, logistics and command responsibilities. He was also a former Corps Commander of the Osun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps.
According to a profile published by Fresh Facts Magazine, Adewinmbi studied Economics at the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a B.Sc. degree in 1981, before joining the Nigerian Defence Academy through Short Service Combatant Course 24 in 1983. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in December of that year.
During his military career, he served in a number of finance and administrative positions, including Director of Finance and Accounts at the Defence Intelligence Agency and Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance, Apapa. He also participated in the United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM) peace enforcement mission between 1992 and 1993.
Beyond his military career, Adewinmbi has been involved in community and humanitarian activities, with interests spanning youth development, support for traders and farmers, women empowerment and community initiatives.
